Achim
Since 1989 Achim has been dedicated to reaching out, welcoming and supporting Baltimore’s Russian speaking Jewish community. Achim maintains close relationships with hundreds of these families, providing support in many areas from educational needs to family and parenting needs. Achim is their address for guidance their life-cycle events, from bris’n to levaya’s. Achim takes guidance from Reb Shmuel Kamenetsky and Rav Yaakov Hopfer.
Agudah Maryland
Agudath Israel of Maryland (Agudah MD), the Mid-Atlantic regional office of Agudath Israel of America, advocates for the interests of the institutions and households of the Jewish community, while working to maintain its religious freedoms, operating in tandem with the leading rabbinic authorities. Its activities are focused on securing government aid and assistance to benefit the Jewish day schools and their parent bodies (school funding programs, tuition aid programs, school safety, and transportation, etc.); to help secure shuls; and to provide services that benefit community organizations.
Ahavas Chaim
Ahavas Chaim is a unique and lifesaving organization serving Jewish teens and young adults in the Baltimore community. Through creative programming, limitless encouragement, and an unwavering dedication to each and every individual, Ahavas Chaim has helped countless individuals find meaning, purpose, and stability in their lives as they navigate paths strewn with obstacles and uncertainty. In our unconditionally accepting embrace, these young men learn how to develop and maintain healthy relationships while working toward self-improvement and self-actualization.
Association for Infants and Mothers
Welcoming a new baby into the family is a precious time that comes with a unique set of challenges for every member of the family. At AIM, we ease these joyful challenges with assistance designed to envelop the household with peace and wellbeing, allowing the new mother to regain her strength while pampering her and her family and minimizing the disruption to daily life.
Bikur Cholim of Baltimore
Bikur Cholim of Baltimore provides support services to countless individuals and families from the Baltimore community, as well as people coming from all over the world to Baltimore to receive medical care from our world-class medical institutions. Bikur Cholim of Baltimore services all of Baltimore and the surrounding areas. We offer ancillary services to hospitalized and homebound patients and their families. In addition to supporting members of the local community, Bikur Cholim of Baltimore serves all Jewish families seeking medical care in the area hospitals and facilities. We lighten their burden by providing meals, transportation, visitation, respite, kosher hospitality rooms in area hospitals, a dedicated apartment for out-of-town cholim, free-loan medical equipment and other services.
Chai Lifeline Mid-Atlantic
Chai Lifeline Mid-Atlantic provides critical assistance to meet the unique emotional, social and financial needs of families living with serious illness, trauma or loss. Our year-round programs and services are aligned with the four tenets of our mission: family stability, case management, emotional support, and advocacy. With a deep understanding of the impact of illness, our team provides the tools to keep the family unit strong and to support each member’s individual needs for our almost 150 families and 650 family members in the community. The programs we provide include home respite, hospital respite, big brother/big sister relationships, Jewish holiday programs, medical referrals, insurance advocacy, and family retreats, among other support services focused on maintaining a functioning family unit.
Chaverim of Baltimore
Chaverim of Baltimore makes a difference one person at a time through our dedicated hotline, which handles dozens of calls weekly, totaling over 60,000 calls to date. We provide non-emergency volunteer aid, offering essential services such as jump-starting dead car batteries, retrieving keys from locked vehicles or homes, changing flat tires, providing gas for stranded vehicles, retrieving dropped items from storm drains, towing cars stuck in mud, snow, or ice, rescuing children locked in cars or buildings, delivering and setting up emergency generators during power outages, and organizing shiva minyanim.
Hebrew school of the Performing Arts
The mission of the Hebrew School of the performing Arts is to provide children with learning differences and other challenges who cannot attend a fulltime Jewish day school with a warm, loving and accepting environment in which to learn Judaic subjects through the performing arts.
JEWELS School
JEWELS’ mission is to provide a Jewish education for children of all abilities with an emphasis on the integration and custom-tailored learning experience for children with special needs. Children receive the most beneficial academic, social, and life skills necessary for future success in a loving and supportive Jewish setting. The JEWELS program provides a strong school program as well as a pediatric therapy center, enabling children with developmental disabilities and/or developmental delays to have all their educational and therapy needs met in one location.
Jewish Caring Network - Gevuras Yarden, Inc.
The Jewish Caring Network, formed in 1996, is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing a full range of support services to families facing life-threatening, lifelong, and serious illnesses while preserving their privacy and their dignity.
Jewish Incarcerated Family Services
Jewish Incarcerated Family Services (JIFS), an affiliate of Chabad of Maryland, ensures that no Jewish soul is forgotten. As a vital safety net, we support incarcerated Jews and their families with Torah classes and materials, counseling, kosher meals, advocacy, and reintegration assistance—helping the most vulnerable return to the fold. By instilling a sense of purpose and identity through Torah values, JIFS plays a crucial role in reducing recidivism, offering the spiritual and communal support needed to rebuild lives in a productive and meaningful way. We also assist families navigating the challenges of incarceration, ensuring they remain connected to the Jewish community. With dignity and compassion, JIFS brings hope, continuity, and a path forward.
Jewish Teen Advancement Program
JTAP provides meaningful support for Baltimore’s Jewish teenage girls managing the unique challenges of today. With mentorship, support, and year-round programming, JTAP provides a true safe space for our girls to develop positive lifestyle choices in a warm, non-judgmental setting, empowering them to become healthy young women and well-adjusted members of the Jewish community.

L'aylah
L’aylah provides specialized education for students diagnosed with a language based learning disorder/dyslexia. This inclusive program functions within Torah Institute, enabling students to be part of a mainstream class when appropriate as well as join in all school activities and events. The program uses multisensory teaching methods to enable these students to learn to read and write in both Hebrew and English. These methods are evidence-based and proven to be up to 100% successful in teaching students to read and write.
Links
Since 2006, Links Family has been providing emotional and financial support to children & teens who lost a parent. Our services include but are not limited to: weekend retreats, peer support events, therapy referrals, therapy funding & case management, wedding funds, bar and bat mitzvah gifts, legal & financial advisors, grief training for schools & a clothing boutique. Misaskim of Maryland
Misaskim of MD offers compassionate support to individuals and families navigating tragedy or loss. Since our inception, we have: – Provided shiva services to over 900 households – Supported more than 2,300 individuals in their time of mourning (aveilim) Additionally, Misaskim is dedicated to upholding the dignity of the deceased (Kavod Hameis) with the utmost professionalism, sensitivity, and confidentiality.
NCSY
NCSY is the premier organization dedicated to connect, inspire and empower Jewish teens and encourage passionate Judaism through Torah and Tradition. Whether it’s programs specifically geared to Jewish teens in non-Jewish schools (Jewish Student Union or “JSU”), informal educational programming for teens in Jewish Day School (“NCSY”) or separate programs for Frum teens in single-gendered schools (“BGCubed” and “TYA”), our local NCSY branch services over 1400 teens from across the spectrum of Jewish Baltimore.
Northwest Citizens Patrol
On behalf of our hundreds of volunteers, tremendous thanks go to you on this day when your donation goes to support the Northwest Citizens Patrol – the largest and longest-running Citizens Patrol / Security / Crime Fighting organization in the country. A Baltimore City Police Commissioner emphatically declared, “NWCP assists the Police Department in keeping our citizens safe.”
RAJE Maryland
RAJE (Russian American Jewish Experience) Maryland is a Jewish outreach program designed to create a vibrant community of young first- and second-generation Russian Jews living in Maryland who want to explore their unique national, ethnic, and cultural identity while learning more about their Jewish heritage. RAJE Maryland is a member of RAJE USA, an international umbrella organization with branches in Philadelphia, Chicago, Toronto, Miami, and throughout the greater New York/New Jersey area.
Relief Resources
Relief Resources is a nonprofit organization, providing mental health guidance, education and treatment recommendations to individuals in the Baltimore Jewish Community. Through a series of targeted questions, Relief referral specialists comb through their database of thousands of professionals to carefully connect individuals with the specific resources they need. We follow up with our callers to ensure that they are receiving the help they need. With sensitivity, respect, and discretion, Relief is proud to serve as the bridge between their client’s mental health challenge today, and emotional wellbeing, tomorrow.
Shomrim of Baltimore
Baltimore Shomrim, the community volunteer public safety advocacy group, works collaboratively with local law enforcement, emergency first responders, and other community organizations to heighten awareness and improve community safety. Shomrim in collaboration with it’s partners, works to identify and address public safety concerns, fight antisemitism and bigotry, promote crime victim awareness, safety education and awareness, and support initiatives that enhance the well-being of Baltimore residents. By building trust and facilitating open communication, Shomrim creates a united front bringing government, law enforcement and community leaders together to ensure the community public safety resources are maintained and enhanced.
Sister to Sister
Sister to Sister serves as a comprehensive resource and support network for Jewish divorced women. The Baltimore chapter, servicing over 90 women, provides opportunities for social connections and chizuk, 1:1 volunteer support and advocacy, supports for the children of Sisters, financial and employment counseling, Shabbos and Yom Tov hospitality, financial assistance, dating support, birthday and Yom Tov gifts and much more.
TAL Inc.
TAL is designed to empower teenage girls to build and grow who they are while doing chessed and helping others. We create an environment where the teens feel comfortable and accepted and are able to grow and learn to help reach their potential. TAL emphasizes that each person in the world is here for a purpose and has what to offer to others. TAL helps each girl tap into what that means for them and how they can help others and impact the world at large.
Tashbar
Tashbar utilizes research-based educational modalities to provide core academic skills and emotional development in a flexible yeshiva environment for boys in grades K-8 and motivate them to excel. Classes are structured as skill-based tiers, rather than age groups, to enable students to join as they are and accelerate at their own pace. Students benefit from a low teacher student ratio, a curated individual portfolio, private tutoring sessions weekly, and an individualized general studies learning plan. We offer a full school day, including both Jewish studies and general studies, as well as Sunday programming and July hybrid learning and camp activities.
The Shidduch Center of Baltimore
Bez’H, we provide enhanced dating opportunities for the single men and women in our community who are in shidduchim, through an expansive network of shadchanim and year-round events, which has led to over 180 shidduchim for our city. Additionally, we offer educational events throughout the year to bolster our communities ability to successfully navigate the shidduch parsha, and we provide one-on-one guidance and support to hundreds of families, offering advice and connecting them to myriad resources in a dignified and discreet fashion. Each year, bez’H, The Shidduch Center provides direct services to over 600 local families.
